Miami Life

Hello from sunny Florida! I know I’ve been mia, and I just won the worst blogger award… but let me tell ya’ that moving is a lot of work. Right now I’m in the “interviews and getting to know the area” process, which is hard, but not as hard as missing family. (Take a  look at this beautiful photos from above)IMG_1254flying. airplane, earthflight to miami, earth

Gorgeous, huh? I mean… Nature is perfect… Now moving back to the topic :P I don’t think I’ve ever had a moment as bittersweet as the one I had at the airport with my family. I mean, you are full of excitement because you are taking a new challenge, however, you are leaving everything behind, including family, friends, and life as you know it. However, I’m really positive and I know this will work for the best.

So far I’m doing fine and I’m in love with Tropical Smoothies. Oh man, I love finding healthy places to eat :D yum! I didn’t have options back in Puerto Rico, so it feels really good to have them here. Look at my gigantic green smoothie and my “chicken-less” wrapIMG_1272tropical smoothies chicken less wrap

I went to a Whole Foods for the first time!!!!!! Say what? I thought I loved Trader Joe’s… then I went to a Whole Foods… It’s food paradise for me! I wanted to buy everything, but since I’m still staying at my cousin’s place I decided to buy some things.

This past few days have been full of first times: I moved to the US, I felt homesick (really bad on Thursday night), I visited the University of Tampa, I ate at Cheesecake Factory (a brown rice veggie burger that wasn’t the best), I tried real Mexican Food, I went to Whole Foods, I went to a flat football game, I went to a Publix, I’ve learn lots of things about Cuban culture, and I’m still learning!

Today I have another interview so wish me luck! Have a beautiful day!

Monday question:

Have you ever been to Miami? Any recommendations?

Xx Jess

The weather jummm I still feel like I’m in Puerto Rico, if it wasn’t for people spaking in English :P
Whenever you can get to a whole foods just do it… you’ll die or mostly need a bankruptcy lawyer by yourside

Awww, welcome to the US, love!!! So, so happy to have you here. I totally understand what you mean that it can be very hard in the beginning to be far away from your family. There will be lots of homesick nights but there will also be lots of great ones. I am so proud of you for committing to this awesome move– it is going to be such an incredible experience. And Whole Foods is amazing, right?!?! You will fall even more in love with it as time goes on. Have fun getting used to your area– sending you so much love!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I don’t know why, but now I look at Florida different than when I’m here just to vacay… duhhh! But really, is kind of oh my God :O I’m really living here, I left everything! Though I know homesick nights will be my mates for some time, I’m hoping to have great ones as well :D

Whole Foods is a healthy foodie dream come true! You know what’s even better? I got an interview with them for the Team Marketing Leader and I’m excited about it! After all how cool is it to work for the health industry that I love so much, and for one of my favorite stores? :P

I am drooling at your wrap, it looks delicious. I’ve never been to Miami so I can’t give you any tips sorry but it looks pretty from the pictures :)

Thanns Jan!!! The interview didn’t went that well because they offered me one thing, and at the end it was something else, which is kind of a bummer! However, I’m finding other opportunities as well (like Whole Foods Team Marketing Leader hooray!!!) :P

btw: the wrap was fricking delish!!!

It’s okay I’ve been MIA too and I don’t have near the excuse you do! I’m glad you are liking Miami so far! Whole Foods is definitely an amazing place, but much more expensive than TJ’s I had to tell myself to stop going there haha!

How exciting!! Moving is certainly hard work, but what an adventure you are on. It always takes some time to transition and while it can be difficult, it’s also really awesome and life changing! Those photos from above are so beautiful. I have never been to Miami, but it’s certainly on my list. Best of luck with the interviews :)
